HDR10+ greatly improves dynamic range (the ratio of light to dark) of video content on a scene-by-scene (or even frame-by-frame) basis. Mechanical Ground Concept
The A-S1200 adopts a Mechanical Ground Concept, inherited from both the A-S2200 and A-S3200. The concept begins with the bolts of the feet welded directly to the main chassis, followed with the large heat sink, power transformer and block capacitors also directly bolted to the chassis. Through this design, unwanted vibration is avoided, achieving expressive and rhythmic bass, presenting the 'Groove' of the music to the listener.

High Quality Circuit Design Based on the ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) Concept
The amplifier design technology from Yamaha is called ToP-ART, which features an input to output with a direct symmetrical design. ToP-ART design and ART Base ensure optimum sound when processing and transmitting the audio signal. The signal is simple and direct, so therefore it is less likely to be affected by noise and distortion. The left and right channels are organized in a straight, symmetrical layout for the highest signal purity. CD Direct Amplification and Pure Direct Mode for Greater Sound Purity
With a straight connection to the CD input, CD Direct Amplification maximizes the CD source's signal to noise ratio. Additionally, engaging the Pure Direct mode causes the music signals to travel the shortest possible circuit route, bypassing the buffer amp, the tone, loudness and balance controls to virtually eliminate any signal degradation for the purest sound quality..
Continuously Variable Loudness Control
The A-S301 also features a new analog loudness control on the front panel that uses electronic volume for higher sound quality, which lets you adjust the loudness effect as desired. Separate from the overall volume, this controls the balance of the low and high frequencies, providing full tonal range at any volume level by compensating for the natural loss in the human ear at soft levels.

Direct Energy HD Class D Switching Amplifier
Continuously evolving throughout the years, Pioneer's Direct Energy HD Amp has now reached the 6th generation. New power coils are adopted for the ideal speaker drive, as well as new custom film capacitors co-developed with Shinyei Capacitor for the ultimate sound. Pioneer's Phase Control technology effectively eliminates phase lag and significantly improves the multi-channel sound without any extra operation. Furthermore, The Full Band Phase Control technology focuses on the group delay in the speaker network filter, and adjusts the phase of each unit as well as the group delay for each speaker. Multi-range speakers gain the sound coherence of full-range speakers, while retaining the wide frequency range advantage. In an environment where the phase of all units and all channels are precisely controlled, a remarkably clear sound location with a surrounding feel is achieved. PQFA Jitterless Sound Processing for Network/USB
With PQFA (Precision Quartz File-based Audio), clocks are available for each stage of input, digital signal processing, and D/A conversion, and the shorter path prevents jitter from occurring. Additionally, a high-precision clock IC (OSC) is used to realise D/A conversion with significantly less jitter.
PQLS Jitterless Sound Transmission
With the precision quartz controller on the AV receiver, Precision Quartz Lock System (PQLS) eliminates distortion caused by timing errors. It controls the amount of audio signals from the AV receiver to the Pioneer universal disc player connected via HDMI, giving the best possible digital-to-analog conversion.
Audio Exclusive Mode
Interference from video signals is eliminated by turning off the video signal path via HDMI. You can enjoy detailed sound, full of spatial feel.
AV Direct Mode

The VSX-LX304 is compatible with 7.2.2ch/ 5.2.4ch configuration of the latest theater sound platform, Dolby Atmos. You can reproduce object-oriented sound in smooth, curving movements, or the realistic three-dimensional movement overhead by the top speakers. Other audio codecs such as PCM and DSD can be upmixed using Dolby Surround for enjoying 3D surround sound.

Advanced MCACC Auto Room Tuning featuring Auto Phase Control Plus
Advanced MCACC adjusts the sound according to the listening room and speakers, and also creates clearer sound by suppressing the standing waves that occur between walls or ceiling and floor. Measurement of up to nine positions can be saved for a wide listening area. Auto Phase Control Plus makes real-time analysis of the phase difference, and automatically compensates the gap between the LFE and main signals, providing strong bass and clear high-frequency sound.
Works with SONOS
connecting the VSX-LX304 to Sonos Connect, you can play any music or audio source on your Sonos app. You can group the VSX-LX304 with other Sonos devices on the network, or use it independently. The AV receiver will automatically turn on and switch input as soon as you play music on your Sonos app.
Powered Zone 2 with Dedicated DAC
With the powered feature, the VSX-LX304 can directly drive speakers in another room, without the need for a separate amplifier. What's more, the dedicated DAC for Zone 2 lets you listen to all digital audio sources.
Zone B Output for Wireless Headphones
The VSX-LX304 is equipped with Zone B audio output terminals for expanding the Main Zone sound. You can listen to the sound playing in the living room via wireless headphones.
Chromecast built-in
The VSX-LX304 comes with Chromecast built-in, so you can use your mobile device to stream your favorite music, radio, or podcasts to your speaker. You can control the audio from anywhere in the house using Chromecastenabled apps running on your personal device-iPhone, iPad, Android phone and tablet, Mac and Windows laptop, and Chromebook. Original Speaker Terminals
Cut directly from pure brass, the luxurious speaker terminals comfortably fit the human hand for effortless tightening, achieving a highly secure connection.
Groove
Connection with the music is achieved with the underlying groove and rhythm. A true representation of the music lets the listener feel the groove, and therefore not just hear the music but feel the story behind the music.
Mechanical Ground Concept
The A-S1200 adopts a Mechanical Ground Concept, inherited from both the A-S2200 and A-S3200. The concept begins with the bolts of the feet welded directly to the main chassis, followed with the large heat sink, power transformer and block capacitors also directly bolted to the chassis. Through this design, unwanted vibration is avoided, achieving expressive and rhythmic bass, presenting the 'Groove' of the music to the listener.
