Rectifier Traditional Straight 4×12″ 240W Guitar Speaker Cabinet Specifications:

  • Style/Type: Closed Back (sealed)
  • Speaker(s: Celestion Vintage 30s
  • Wattage: 240 Watts
  • Cabinet Impedance: 8 Ohm Mono / 4 Ohm Stereo
  • Height: 30.25″
  • Width: 29.875″
  • Depth: 14.25″
  • Weight: 101 lb.

Rectifier Traditional 4×12 cabinets are three inches shorter than the oversized Standard Rectifier 4×12 (width and depth dimensions are the same). This slight size difference produces a tighter and more focused low-end response, though still delivering massive 4×12 punch and authority. Compared to Standard Recto 4x12s, the Traditional 4×12 provides more balance between lows, mids and highs and a greater emphasis on attack. The mid-range is more pronounced and this cabinet is often preferred for styles that require tight tracking and articulate response. Straight cabinet designs also provide for a small increase of interior cabinet space, which yields slightly more bass and low-end resonance compared to slants. Some players prefer the straight-style cabinets with all speakers attached to a one-piece baffle and all facing the same direction, effectively coupled for maximum punch and frontal projection. Other players prefer SLANT-style Recto 4×12 Cabinets, which offers a monitor effect due to the top speakers sloping up toward your ears. This can be a benefit when playing live. Regardless of Slant or Straight, if you are playing a Recto 4×12, your tone has authority, clarity and detail that only MESA Traditional or Standard 4×12 Rectifier cabinets deliver

The Rupert Neve Designs Portico II Master Bus Processor lets you enhance, reshape, and polish your sound to perfection. Whether you want to add finishing touches to your master bus, level out a stereo group, or add new life to mono sound sources, the Portico II Master Bus Processor gives you the compression, limiting, and stereo field manipulation you need. Featuring custom input and output transformers designed by Rupert Neve, the Portico II Master Bus Processor implements the same ultra-smooth Class A signal processing made famous by the 5088 console and the Portico II Channel, as well as 72V topology, which gives it enormous headroom while allowing it to integrate seamlessly with virtually any system. If you’re serious about your sound, then it’s time to ask your Sales Engineer about the Rupert Neve Designs Portico II Master Bus Processor!

Powerful and flexible compression

Both channels of the Portico II Master Bus Processor feature one of Rupert Neve Designs’ most versatile compressors to date. Whether you want to add punch to your mix or smooth out your vocal subgroup, the Portico II Master Bus Processor has the compression you need. Controls for ratio, threshold, attack, release, blend, sidechain highpass filter, limiting, and makeup gain let you dial in the perfect dynamics quickly and easily. Use the two compressors independently, or instantly link them with the push of a button. Variable Silk Red/Blue Texture controls let you add classic Neve harmonic warmth; while a blend control lets you dial in the dry signal for instant parallel processing, so you can get all of the compression you want without losing transients. In addition, the Portico II Master Bus Processor gives you a choice of either vintage-flavored feed-back or modern-sounding feed-forward compression modes.

Transparent, musical limiter that’s effortless to use

Often overlooked at first glance, the Portico II Master Bus Processor’s 1-knob limiter is a powerful, flexible, and remarkably easy-to-use tool that lets you get the most out of the Portico II Master Bus Processor’s compression section. Rupert Neve Designs’ Adaptive Release Technology gives this limiter its unique ability to grab onto fast transients, without smothering the rest of the signal. Plus, you have the option to blend compressed and dry signals together for parallel processing that maintains natural-sounding dynamics without clipping. This gracious behavior means you can set it and forget it, with the added security of knowing your masters will be free from clipping and broadcast-ready.

Sidechain inserts for creative ducking

Every dynamics processor has a sidechain circuit that examines the signal and determines how much the VCA will reduce gain — but not every unit provides access to its sidechain. In compressors without a separate sidechain input, your main input signal is, essentially, compressing itself. With compressors like the one in the RND Portico II Master Bus Processor, you can insert external processing on the sidechain — or introduce a different signal that determines the compression action on the main signal. It’s an incredibly useful feature that lets you, for instance, automatically duck a track to make space for another (very popular for that EDM mix pumping effect). Combined with the sidechain HP filter, it gives you an impressive amount of tonal versatility.

Amazing Stereo Field Editor

Although the Rupert Neve Designs Portico II Master Bus Processor functions wonderfully as a dual-mono processor, it really shines in stereo mode. That’s thanks to its unique Stereo Field Editor. The Stereo Field Editor uses advanced Mid/Side stereo manipulation techniques, allowing you to adjust your stereo bus’s width, depth, and ambience. Beyond widening your stereo image, the Portico II Master Bus Processor can actually bring center-panned instruments out in your mix. That makes the Portico II Master Bus Processor an invaluable tool for mastering, as well as defining the spread of your subgroups during mixdown.

The legend continues

Rupert Neve’s 80 Series consoles had a huge, punchy, and authoritative sound that defined the sound of ’70s rock. From London to New York to Los Angeles and beyond, top studios were installing Neve boards as fast as they could. By 1977, with the introduction of the NECAM automation system, 80 Series boards were the main component of the success formula for any recording studio with world-class aspirations. Mr. Neve’s current company, Rupert Neve Designs, continues to advance the state of the art with cutting-edge products that sound incredible and intelligently address the challenges of the digital age. With your Rupert Neve Designs Portico II Master Bus Processor from Sweetwater, the legend continues.

Rupert Neve Designs Portico II Master Bus Processor Features:

  • Powerful 2-channel compressor/limiter/stereo field manipulator
  • Custom input and output transformers designed by Rupert Neve
  • Full compression sections for both channels, including attack, release, ratio, and threshold controls
  • Sidechain inserts and highpass filters for both compressors
  • Feed-back/Feed-forward switch lets you select between vintage-style and modern compression modes
  • Silk Texture control with Red/Blue modes for classic Neve harmonic warmth
  • Blend controls allow you to mix dry signal back into your compression, preserving transients while adding punch
  • Simple and highly musical 1-knob limiter with Adaptive Release Technology allows for brickwall limiting that doesn’t distort or affect signal under the threshold
  • Stereo Field Editor section includes independent level and EQ for width and depth, allowing you to dial in the perfect stereo field

Introducing the NAD C388

Expansive Power with Unprecedented Flexibility.

The C 388 ties together all the critical elements of a top performing music system; music sources past, present, and future, in addition to providing a nearly unrestricted reservoir of power that allows your speakers to reveal every nuance of musical detail. This advanced amplifier includes many cutting edge technological breakthroughs developed by NAD over decades of creating affordable ultra-high performance audio components.

Getting the Basics Right

It is surprising how many seemingly advanced products in the market today often miss many of the most basic requirements for satisfying performance. Low noise circuits, precise volume control action, accurate channel balance, proper input and output impedance characteristics, high overload margins and stability with difficult speaker loads. NAD starts by getting these things precisely right and advances from there. We include an MM Phono stage with precisely accurate RIAA equalization, high overload margins, extremely low noise, and an innovative circuit to suppress infrasonic noise that is present on all LPs – all without affecting bass response. Our line inputs can accommodate all kinds of analogue source components by offering ideal input impedance characteristics with linear ultra-low-noise buffer amplifiers to prevent any sonic degradation caused by inappropriate loading of the source device. We include a separate headphone amplifier with low output impedance and very high output voltage capability – enough to drive even high impedance studio monitor headphones. Low impedance line outputs that can connect to other amplifiers or subwoofers extend the versatility of this well thought out amplifier. These are all details you can hear.

Future-Proof Modular Design

This NAD exclusive feature allows you to customize your NAD amplifier with additional capabilities and features, now or in the future. The two available MDC slots can accommodate a variety of upgrade modules including 4K video capable HDMI switching, additional Digital Inputs, additional Analogue and Phono Inputs, and one of the most advanced Hi-Res Audio multi-room wireless systems available, the BluOS™ music management system developed by Bluesound. BluOS connects to your network and is controlled via smartphone, tablet, or desktop device to manage your music collection and connect to a growing list of high-quality streaming music services.

Connected and Smart

You can connect instantly to the C 388 with Bluetooth® allowing you to stream music wirelessly from any Bluetooth-enabled device. The high performance aptX® codec is fully supported for true CD-quality sound. Bluetooth can also be used to listen to other sources connected to the C 388 via wireless headphones such as NAD’s own HP70. There is also a control app that allows your smartphone or tablet to control all functions of your C 388. Adding the optional BluOS Module provides access to your local area network via Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet connection and adds Hi-Res Audio streaming. The BluOS Module also makes the C 388 a singlezone streamer in a complete multi-room wireless music system that is fully compatible with BluOS-enabled music systems and wireless speakers. These are available in a variety of sizes and shapes to fit every room and extend the performance of your primary music system to create a warm ambience of sound in your home.

Sophisticated Power

NAD has moved away from the old-fashioned power-hungry linear power supplies and Class AB output stages that waste nearly half of the energy consumed and produce heat rather than sound. Instead, we have developed even better performing circuits based on switch mode power supplies and Class D output stages. Once thought to be inferior to traditional topologies, NAD’s advanced work in this area has created some of the best performing amplifiers regardless of basic design principle. These new designs are very linear over a wide bandwidth and provide consistent performance into all speaker loads, providing a dramatic advance over previous models. The power supply is capable of 150 watts continuously and over 250 watts instantaneously to allow for short-term musical transients. It can operate with any AC mains voltage from 100 to 240 volts and provides pure DC power to all the various stages of the C 388. This highly efficient supply also provides near perfect regulation of voltage across a wide range of conditions and provides a solid noise-free foundation for the amplifying stages. The C 388 uses a customized version of the proven Hypex UcD output stage operating in a fully balanced bridge configuration. This allows for massive power with nearly immeasurable distortion and noise in the audible range. Every detail of this design has been carefully planned and perfectly executed to wring out every last drop of performance.
