Stable high-current power with wide-range amplifiers
Dynamic changes in music cause impedance to fluctuate. If power can't be delivered when impedance drops, sound quality suffers. Onkyo's solution is WRAT, specifically its high-output EI transformer, huge custom-made main audio capacitors, and carefully selected high-quality parts. High-current stability controls the speaker-drivers for accurate and assured reproduction of dynamic musical passages.
Further, the A-9110 features Onkyo's time-proven low-negative-feedback amplifier topology that distinguishes the timbral warmth, fullness, and vibrancy of the recording. This circuitry captures a wide frequency spectrum with uncommonly low distortion.
Sounds clearer at low volumes
When playing music at low volume, the signal normally drops close to the component's noise floor. The signal picks up noise, which is amplified, and the result is muffled sound.
To avoid this, the A-9110 features Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry, a volume circuit that requires less than half the usual amount of attenuation. The signal never approaches the noise floor, so you can enjoy clearest sound at low volume.
Phase Matching Bass Boost enriches sound at low volume
Most pre-main amps have a loudness button designed to boost low-mid frequency sound. However, conventional designs are prone to phase-shift, which degrades the clarity of the vocal frequency band.
Onkyo's Phase Matching Bass Boost function eliminates phase-shift between low- and mid-range frequency bands above 300 Hz.
Bass response is enhanced without compromising vocal clarity, and that's something especially useful when playing music at low volume where bass and high-frequency sounds are more difficult to hear.
Thick and rigid chassis tames resonance
Every hi-fi component generates electromechanical resonance. This translates into signal noise, and that impacts on the sound coming out of your speakers. To combat the negative effects of vibration, the A-9110 features a rigid metal chassis that's 1.3 times thicker than the A-9010 at 1.6 mm. Working together with large, wide-spaced insulators, unwanted resonance is virtually eliminated.
Direct Mode brings you closer to the source
Direct Mode bypasses tone and PM Bass circuitries. In combination with a refined amp circuit design, signal-path-lengths have been significantly reduced in comparison to the A-9010 for even more accurate and faithful sound.

Certified by the UHD Alliance, the new Elite UDP-LX500 meets or exceeds strict performance specifications for resolution (4K - 4 times sharper than HD), high dynamic range (HDR - brilliant brights, deepest darks) and wide color spectrum (more lifelike colors). It also focuses on other video and audio attributes including immersive audio (multi-dimensional sound) among others. Three-Block Internal Layout
The blocks for power supply, drive/digital processing and analog audio are separated into three to eliminate electrical and magnetic interference between the blocks.
Ultra-Rigid Construction without Radiation Holes
Even the holes for heat radiation are excluded to realize a flat form with optimal electric circuit design and minimum mechanical noise from the rotating system. The result is significantly low noise and even more rigid and stable chassis structure.
Double-Layered Chassis with Rigid Under Base for Rigidity and Low Center of Gravity
The 1.6 mm-thick chassis base is reinforced with a 3 mm-thick steel plate Rigid Under Base. This Double-Layered Chassis structure provides a low center-of-gravity and overall rigidity that prevents the transfer of external vibration to the inner chassis and offers a superior reading of the disc.
6-Layered Main Circuit Board for High S/N Ratio
A 6-layered IVH is used for the main circuit board to thoroughly eliminate digital noise. This optimizes the digital signal wiring and minimizes GND impedance and dramatically improves S/N ratio in audio/video signal processing. The 18 Gbps transmission through the latest HDMI standard becomes even more precise.
SDR/HDR Preset Mode for Optimal Performance for the Display
In addition to the video parameter "Reference" for reproducing the original master quality, you can select "LCD TV," "OLED TV," or "Projector" for the video quality best suited to your display. Additionally, there are SDR/HDR presets for each video parameter, that automatically switches between SDR preset and HDR preset according to the output signal.
Disc Information On-Screen Display
You can display the disc information on your screen by pressing and holding the remote control's DISPLAY button. In addition to the playing disc's details, you can easily check mastering information such as MaxFALL (Maximum Frame Average Light Level) and MaxCLL (Maximum Content Light Level) available on some HDR content, as well as HDMI output information .
PQLS Jitter-less Sound Transmission
With the precision quartz controller on a compatible AV receiver, Pioneer's PQLS (Precision Quartz Lock System) eliminates distortion caused by timing errors. It controls the amount of audio signals from the AV receiver to the UDP-LX500, giving the best possible digital-to-analog conversion. UDP-LX500 supports PQLS 2ch Audio, Multi-Surround and Bit-stream.
Zero Signal Terminal
The Zero Signal Terminal is a Pioneer-original feature dedicated to tuning audio and video quality without signal transmission. By connecting the Zero Signal Terminal with the audio/video input terminal of an AV receiver etc., the reference level (GND) of the audio/video signals is aligned between the two devices and the potential difference is suppressed, allowing a precise and high-quality signal transmission.

High Sound Quality Circuit Design Based on the ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) Concept
ToP-ART Design and ART Base ensure optimum sound when processing and transmitting the audio signal. The signal is simple and direct, therefore it is less likely to be affected by noise and distortion. The left and right channels are organized in a straight, symmetrical layout for the highest signal purity.
High Strength Chassis Contributes to High Density Sound and Pure Audio Reproduction
In order to effectively dampen the vibrations that have adverse effects on sound quality, the A-S801 chassis has a double bottom design with a 1 mm iron plate. In addition, the power transformer and heat sinks in the power amp section are supported by an extremely strong and stable ART (Anti-Resonance and Tough) base. A solid center bar further enhances high rigidity and dampens vibrations. These Yamaha design innovations contribute to superior signal to noise ratio with rich, natural sound reproduction.
High Quality Parts for Outstanding Audio Performance
Notice the custom-made power transformer, custom-made block capacitors, two direct signal path speaker relays, one point grounding system, extruded aluminum heat sinks and other top-quality parts to effortlessly handle demanding audio conditions. The quality of each individual part, as well as how they work together, basically determines the sound quality of this component. Yamaha uses only very high quality parts, carefully selected and tested for their sound properties.
USB DAC Function Supports Native DSD (2.8 MHz / 5.6 MHz) and PCM (384 kHz / 32-bit) Resolutions
The USB DAC function supports native DSD (2.8 MHz and 5.6 MHz) and PCM (384 kHz / 32-bit ) resolutions. This function allows for a direct connection to PCs which opens the door to play back of the highest resolution audio content offered today. The Yamaha-developed USB device controller has its own master clock that eliminates PC jitter. The driver is a low loss, high throughput ASIO 2.3 Yamaha Steinberg USB driver. During playback, indicators on the front panel clearly show which sampling frequencies are currently being used.
Exceptionally High Performance 32-bit D/A Converter
After careful listening evaluations, Yamaha selected the 32-bit, 2-channel SABRE Premier Audio DAC from ESS Technology, Inc. Most notable is its high precision processing power of 32-bit audio along with the ability to handle large amounts of audio data with full PCM 384 kHz and native DSD 5.6 MHz. Since the built-in D/A converter generates its own master clock, an original jitter elimination function is also included, permitting D/A conversion with an extremely low impact of clock jitter. Moreover, a 2-channel D/A converter is housed inside the chip which applies a double differential operation. The result is exceptional high performance and high quality signal output with a superior signal to noise ratio.
Digital Audio Input for TV and/or Blu-ray Disc Player
The A-S801 is equipped for digital audio inputs with an optical and digital coaxial input terminal. The optical is for receiving audio from a TV and the coaxial for receiving audio from a Blu-ray Disc player. The audio stays in the digital domain giving you pure, pristine and dynamic sound for all your entertainment sources.
CD Direct Amplification and Pure Direct Mode for Greater Sound Purity
With a straight connection to the CD input, CD Direct Amplification maximizes the CD sources signal-to-noise ratio. Additionally, engaging the Pure Direct mode causes the music signals to travel the shortest possible circuit route, bypassing the buffer amp, the tone, loudness and balance controls to virtually eliminate any signal degradation for the purest sound quality.
Continuous Variable Loudness Control
The A-S801 also features a new analog loudness control on the front panel that uses electronic volume for higher sound quality which lets you adjust the loudness effect as desired. Separate from the overall volume, this controls the balance of the low and high frequencies providing full tonal range at any volume level by compensating for the natural loss in the human ear at soft levels.

High Strength Chassis Contributes to High Density Sound and Pure Audio Reproduction
In order to effectively dampen the vibrations that have adverse effects on sound quality, the A-S801 chassis has a double bottom design with a 1 mm iron plate. In addition, the power transformer and heat sinks in the power amp section are supported by an extremely strong and stable ART (Anti-Resonance and Tough) base. A solid center bar further enhances high rigidity and dampens vibrations. These Yamaha design innovations contribute to superior signal to noise ratio with rich, natural sound reproduction.
High Quality Parts for Outstanding Audio Performance
Notice a custom made power transformer, custom made block capacitors, two direct signal path speaker relays, one point grounding system, extruded aluminum heat sinks and other top quality parts to effortlessly handle demanding audio conditions. The quality of each individual part, as well as how they work together, basically determines the sound quality of this component. Yamaha uses only very high quality parts, carefully selected and tested for their sound properties.
Digital Audio Input for TV and/or Blu-ray Disc™ Player
The A-S801 is equipped for digital audio inputs with an optical and digital coaxial input terminal. The optical is for receiving audio from a TV and the coaxial for receiving audio from a Blu-ray Disc player. The audio stays in the digital domain giving you pure, pristine and dynamic sound for all your entertainment sources.
CD Direct Amplification and Pure Direct Mode for Greater Sound Purity
With a straight connection to the CD input, CD Direct Amplification maximizes the CD sources signal-to-noise ratio. Additionally, engaging the Pure Direct mode causes the music signals to travel the shortest possible circuit route, bypassing the buffer amp, the tone, loudness and balance controls to virtually eliminate any signal degradation for the purest sound quality.
Continuous Variable Loudness Control
The A-S801 also features a new analog loudness control on the front panel that uses electronic volume for higher sound quality which lets you adjust the loudness effect as desired. Separate from the overall volume, this controls the balance of the low and high frequencies providing full tonal range at any volume level by compensating for the natural loss in the human ear at soft levels.
